The makers of PUBG are suing the makers of Fortnite

PUBG confirmed it had applied for an injunction against Epic Games Korea in January.

It may be time to pick a side when it comes to your favorite battle royale as PUBG Corp has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Fortnite creator, Epic Games, in Korea. It's been playable in some form since March of a year ago, whereas Epic Games, which had originally planned to make the Save the World mode the centerpiece of Fortnite, only pivoted to put more emphasis on its Battle Royale mode last fall. PUBG Corp. responded a few days later suggesting "we are concerned that Fortnite may be replicating the experience for which PUBG is known".

It's not the first infringement suit PUGB Corporation has filed; last month it sued NetEase over its mobile apps Rules of Survival and Knives Out in California. The filing made similar copyright allegations to those levied against Fortnite.

"Starting this week with the v4.3 update we will be updating the Weekly Challenges on every Thursday rather than with the update for the remainder of Season 4", Epic Games' community coordinator Nathan "JustMooney1" Mooney said on Reddit.

"Fortnite", though free to play, generated $296 million in April through selling in-game items, according to research firm SuperData.

The companies behind the two biggest battle royale video games are about to see who's the last man standing in court. Epic Games is also investing $100 million in Fortnite esports. Now, since you apparently don't have to do that (though until Epic actually announces them we can't say for sure), doing challenges like getting two minigun or LMG eliminations, or eliminating three different opponents in Lucky Landing should be much easier to complete.

PUBG is available now on PC and in Game Preview on Xbox One. Epic Games didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.
