Barr had retweeted the photo after ABC canceled her show on Tuesday over a racist tweet she sent about former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett. Mr. Trump seemed to accuse Iger of a double standard, saying Iger never apologized to him for "HORRIBLE" comments, even though ABC cut ties with Roseanne after she compared former key Obama aide Valerie Jarrett to an ape. She said of the Jarrett tweet, "It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting".

Meanwhile, Sanofi, the maker of Ambien, clapped back at Barr. Roseanne also apologized for the tweet and urged her fans not to boycott ABC, since they had the right to fire her.

Soon after that, Barr's talent agency dropped her from its client list and Viacom announced rerun episodes of "Roseanne" will no longer be shown on that family of networks.

President Donald Trump weighed in on the Roseanne Barr controversy with a complaint Wednesday that he never got an apology from ABC with an apology for the 'for the awful statements made and said about me on ABC'.

"We need to increase the pool of diverse candidates in the beginning", she said about the reality-show franchise during a TCA appearance in 2016.

Others pointed out that Barr had already been known for making racist comments in the past and questioned why there was suddenly so much outrage surrounding one tweet. In one tweet she calls her own words indefensible and blames Ambien for the initial tweet.

In another deleted tweet, Barr said of the incident that "it was 2 in the morning and I was Ambien tweeting". "I forgive her. It just shocked me a bit, but I indeed f-ed up". Others believe that her personal comments on Twitter should not have impacted the sitcom.

Dungey had the support of ABC's parent company, the Walt Disney Co.

"Wow! unreal", Barr tweeted back.

She has a history of diving into political conspiracy theories on Twitter, and that's how she ended her Memorial Day weekend. On Monday, Barr regurgitated a rumor that Clinton had married a nephew of Soros - a rumor that was popularized by actor and Trump supporter Scott Baio shortly before the 2016 presidential election.
