Apple's WWDC 2018 Keynote: What's Next for the iPhone, iPad and Mac

Up next for Apple two new Apple Watches but no Mac Books or iPads

There's also a simple time factor: the more features that are added, the more complex the code and the more opportunities for bugs. Don't expect any new iPhones, Apple usually saves those for later.

New iOS updates are always previewed at WWDC, so it shouldn't be any different this year.

The introduction of a new set of tools, dubbed "Digital Health", may give some users a fright as it will allow them to monitor how much time they spend on their devices and which applications absorb most of their time. Back in January, two Apple shareholders urged the company to address smartphone addiction among children.

Apple has revealed the next generation of its iOS platform, iOS 12, at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

If so, Apple will introduce the larger features - which were originally penned for iOS 12 - during 2019. Currently, iPhones make use of NFC in conjunction with Apple Pay for payments at credit card terminals. Also expect Apple to announce deeper integration of SIRI in iOS, improved parental controls, and possibly features that improve your digital well-being along with augmented reality features.

With the introduction of features like facial-recognition programs and smaller batteries, Apple engineers are grappling with more hard software challenges than they have with previous iPhone models.

The new machine, which features a six-core Intel Coffee Lake processor, outperforms every other MacBook on Geekbench.

As for hardware, everyone is hoping to see the final release of Apple's multi-device wireless charging pad AirPower, which was announced in a keynote a year ago, but has been notably missing from any Apple-related news since. If launched, users will be able to enter an app on their MacBook and pick up from where they left off in the same app on their iPhone. The new tablet could also get Face ID facial recognition technology, which debuted on the iPhone X in 2017. So be sure to stay tuned with us and visit our website for a more in-depth coverage.

The operating systems themselves won't be available to the general public until the Fall, but Apple will likely announce an earlier public beta program for eager iPhone, iPad and Mac users.
