Body cam video shows New Jersey cop punching woman on the beach

She's facing two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer disorderly conduct and resisting arrest and other charges according to Wildwood police

Wildwood Police released the body-cam footage on Wednesday, which shows an officer questioning Weinman about the presence of alcoholic beverages on the beach.

Wildwood Police Chief Robert Regalbuto said he finds the video "alarming" but doesn't want to "rush to any judgment" until the investigation is complete. After an officer asks for her last name, she becomes angry, telling him, "I didn't do anything to get written up, did I?"

In a Facebook post that was later taken down, Weinman says she was on the beach with her daughter, her daughter's father, and a friend when the incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m.

Wildwood traditionally sees a large influx of young adults for Memorial Day weekend, Regalbuto noted, and a huge 2015 party left the beach "destroyed and trashed". All they asked for was an identification. Then, we see what looks like punches to the side of Weinman's head. "He told me he's arresting me and started coming towards me to put handcuffs on me", she wrote online. "I didn't do anything wrong".

WILDWOOD - The first weekend of the summer ended with negative publicity after a video of a ... The officer flipped the camera back on mid-discussion, presumably after he explained he would allow Weinman to leave.

"Alright, that's it. I'm done with you", the officer says in the video.

Weinman was on probation stemming from a 2014 arrest on charges of burglary. "Once the officer says "you're under arrest", he has to continue with that arrest".

The video does not clearly support his or Weinman's version of events. "I didn't do anything wrong", as she kicks her legs at the officers.

Video of the arrest, showing an officer roughly handling the woman, went viral on social media and as a result. "You're about to get dropped". Weinman can be heard yelling.

"He says it's an overreaction to the situation and an excessive use of force".

Weinman now faces several charges, including two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer. Two of the officers involved have been reassigned to administrative duty pending the outcome of the investigation.

The video shows the altercation already underway, with no indication of how it began.

The chain of events would lead to an incident captured on a separate bystander video: An officer on top of Weinman, punching her at least twice. She places her hands up, but it could be a defense reaction to an officer quickly closing in, he said. "She probably would have just gotten a citation".

Weinman, 20, of Philadelphia, was charged with assaulting officers by kicking and spitting on them during the encounter.
