E3 2018: Watch the Halo Infinite reveal from Microsoft's event

Microsoft's Xbox E3 conference live stream set for 1 pm PDT; Gears of War, Halo 6 and maybe some fighting games en route?

Microsoft is continuing to invest heavily in gaming with more acquisitions, promises of more next-generation gaming consoles and continued work on a cross-platform game-streaming service.

The game was announced during the Microsoft's E3 2018 conference but the trailer that was shown did not tell much about the actual game or gameplay for Infinite.

Microsoft's approach was a little different in accentuating backwards compatibility and a continued effort to make the Xbox a hub for all things media as well as gaming. And Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, its most recent success, was a PlayStation 4 timed console exclusive, although it eventually came out on Xbox One earlier this year. "In Halo Infinite, the game will focus on the Master Chief and continue his saga after the events of Halo 5", developer 343 Studios said in a blog post offering more details on the game.

Undead Labs just released State of Decay 2, and based on the game's engagement success, it's a no-brainer why Microsoft acquired them.

"The Master Chief returns in Halo Infinite-the next chapter of the legendary franchise", Microsoft says.

Forza Horizon 4 was also shown, and my goodness does that game look handsome.

Matt Booty, corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios, said: "The original games we create at Microsoft Studios are some of our biggest assets".

All the new studios will fall under the Microsoft Studios brand.

There's been no fighting game specific cues as of yet and it's wholly possible that we won't see any directly FGC-related content in today's conference, but the well is deep and the possibilities are endless. The game will be available for Xbox One and PC.

A new video game will offer its players the chance to race cars through the Scottish Highlands and on the streets of Edinburgh.
