Florida authorities arrest man in connection to shooting death of XXXTentacion

The rapper was on "modified house arrest" before his deaths, his lawyers told the Miami New Times, and was awaiting trial for multiple charges including domestic battery by strangulation, aggravated battery and false imprisonment of a pregnant woman.

The agency said more details will be released later Thursday.

The arrest came two days after XXXTentacion, whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy, was shot and killed in his auto outside of a motorsports store in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

Dedrick Devonshay Williams (pictured below, left) was arrested in connection with the Monday murder of 21-year-old XXXTentacion, whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy.

Authorities said XXXTentacion was ambushed by two suspects.

The man now being held as a suspect in the murder of XXXTentacion made appeared to make a coded reference to the shooting shortly after the rapper had been gunned down.

A traffic stop led to the arrest of Dedrick Williams, 22, of Pompano Beach.

According to his arrest records, the suspect has at least 11 felonies.

Williams last appeared in court in April and was given probation.

The photos was also shared to XXXTentacion's Instagram account with the caption "baby jah #longlivejahseh" but has since been deleted. Williams, 22, was taken into custody shortly before 7 p.m.in Pompano Beach, police said.

He is now being helped at Broward County Sheriff's department. "I was glad I didn't stay next to him because there was all that 4-wheeler noise going on down there".

"She is stunned, devastated, somewhat rudderless at this point, she's a very young mother, 36 or 37, and one of the nicest ladies you'd ever meet", Bogenschutz said.

A number of celebrity musicians, including Kanye West, J. Cole and Diplo, expressed shock on social media following the rapper's death.
