Griezmann snubs Barca to stay at Atletico

Barcelona Transfer News Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez don’t think Antoine Griezmann will sign

Griezmann has netted 112 goals for Atletico during his four years at the club, but Barcelona have been persistent in their hunt, despite being reported to Federation Internationale de Football Association over an alleged illegal approach last December.

Griezmann had been continually linked with a move to Catalunya, while he kept a tight silence on the subject throughout France's World Cup preparations.

He later tweeted "my fans, my team, my home".

Griezmann announced on Spanish television on Thursday that he would be staying at Atletico next season amid heavy interest from La Liga champions Barcelona.

"They are making an effort to bring top players".

Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann celebrates a goal.

"I feel there are things to do with Atletico", Griezmann added.

"However, in a sporting sense they say that at Barcelona they've not won the Champions League in three years and they want to win it with you and that you'll find it easier to win the Champions League with Barcelona than with Atletico".

It bore an uncanny resemblance to the notorious Lebron James documentary "The Decision", a TV special aired when James announced he was leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers for Miami Heat. Here, I would make history.

The 27-year-old, who now has a €100m release clause, has had persistent speculation over a potential move away from the Wanda Metropolitano with Barcelona thought to be the main interested party.

Juventus boss, Massimiliano Allegri, recently stated in an interview that his star player, Paulo Dybala, is certain to stay at the Serie A club for one more season at least.
