Kieran Trippier says England are not over-reliant on Harry Kane's goals

The fan fest zone in Volgograd will play host to a horde of travelling England fans on Monday night

Harry Kane's late heroics in Volgograd saw the Three Lions start the World Cup with a victory for the first time since 2006.

"I think the mood around the camp is a lot calmer from what I can remember of that last tournament", he said, comparing this squad to his first major tournament experience with England.

That's some turnaround, especially as Maguire only made his worldwide debut last October and plays for a team that hovered in the middle of the Premier League for most of last season.

'Ronaldo is the best in the world, up there with Messi, but the challenge is there to be with them.

I have been saying that this is a huge World Cup for Harry, and a chance to shine on the global stage and show he is one of the best strikers on the planet.

"I am really pleased and even if we had drawn the game I would have been really proud of the performance".

"If he hadn't scored, I'd be answering questions about his ability to score in tournament football", he said. "What pleased me was that we kept the control and composure", he told reporters.

"In 1990 when we did well and got to the semi-finals of the World Cup, we had Gary Lineker as well as a world-class player like Gazza (Paul Gascoigne)".

"To be the best player in the world, you have to aim that high". In 96 we had (Alan) Shearer, a top-class goalscorer, and this time round it looks like we have got a world-class goalscorer in Harry Kane.

However, the former England global believes that Kane should not be labelled as a world class player just yet.

The striker, who confirmed he had opted against swapping his No 9 shirt with a Tunisian opponent post-match, is now focusing on the game against Panama on Sunday when England can potentially secure qualification for the knockout phase.

England made a superb start at the Volgograd Arena when Kane lashed the home from close range in the 11th minute, but the lead lasted 24 minutes before Tunisia drew level from the penalty spot through Ferjani Sassi. Hopefully he can keep that going in the competition. I felt he could score a handful of goals against Panama and Tunisia.
