MCU moving toward majority female heroes, says Kevin Feige

The Wasp Hope van Dyne BTS on set

Ant-Man and the Wasp star Evangeline Lilly has a bone to pick with the men of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Actor Evangeline Lilly said she has never understood why her fellow male Marvel actors are always complaining about wearing their superhero suits.

"It's just not that bad!" she said. This sucks. Why are we ... why? "And so I was thrilled, I was thrilled to finally get a chance to work with him". I'm uncomfortable all day.' You get used to it. "You tune it out, '" she joked in the interview.

To illustrate her point, Lilly lifted up her leg to show off her very uncomfortable-looking high heels, in a move so smooth it immediately earned the internet's respect. As for her initial claim regarding past complaints of Marvel's leading men, she's not exaggerating. "And I've had some thoughts, but I hesitate to say what they are in case we do wind up going in that direction and some of those things that Scott is dealing with are things that I'm thinking of now". That's already led to some wild theories about how our heroes will set things right next year, and there will certainly be plenty more when we actually, uh, know anything about this movie, but Marvel's Kevin Feige has confirmed that pretty much everyone has already gotten one thing right.

Ant-Man and the Wasp, directed by Peyton Reed, will hit theaters on July 6 with a cast that includes Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hannah John-Kamen, Michael Peña, Laurence Fishburne, and Walton Goggins.

Scarlett first played the role in 2010's "Iron Man 2", and she's confident that the character's "tortured past" would make for an entertaining standalone film. And they're just like, 'What is this?

The whole Antonio Banderas introduction - and subsequent death - may be brief, but it's nonetheless a nice callback to the first film, which actually got some dramatic weight from the death of "Antony", Scott's courageous and loyal ant companion.
