Melania Trump reappears after 24 days out of public view

Melania Trump will not attend G7 or Singapore summits

Although the first lady is returning to public life, Grisham confirmed she will not be attending the G7 Summit or Singapore meeting.

Nearly a month after vanishing from public view, first lady Melania Trump appeared Monday at a White House reception honoring Gold Star families.

Even though the network noted that Melania Trump was scheduled to appear at the Gold Star function monday, CNN's Brian Stelter appeared to downplay the news because the event was not open to the public.

Noting the wild media speculations, the president pointed to his wife, who has been sitting in the front row all along.

"Nobody has heard from Melania over these past few weeks, and her cell phone has been switched off", said a source.

Melania Trump's almost three-week absence sparked a wave of jokes, concern and faux concern.

Final week, amid hypothesis in regards to the first girl's conspicuous absence and the hashtag #whereisMelania trending on Twitter, Mrs. Trump tweeted from her official Twitter account criticizing the hypothesis within the media and saying that she was "feeling nice".

Earlier that day, Ms Grisham said the first lady had been working on projects including a picnic and having meetings with staff.

On May 30, a White House reporter for CNBC, Eamon Javers, tweeted that he saw the first lady walking with her aides in the West Wing last Tuesday afternoon.

Or someone has designed a robot that looks just like the first lady, at least from a distance.

The first lady has not been seen since May 10, when she and Donald Trump welcomed home three Americans who had been held in North Korea.

I think Melania's spokeswoman summed it up nicely as she batted away criticism that the First Lady has been out of the spotlight.

What's more, several conspiracy theories surfaced last week when Melania made her first social media announcement in a while.

"I'm amazed Mrs. Trump has been able to do it", she told AFP. "Thank you to the Gold Star families that joined us in celebration & remembrance", she wrote. She had not been seen publicly since undergoing a medical procedure in mid-May.

She is known for her privacy and White House independence, often breaking with her husband's schedule. "For all we know, maybe she does understand what the expectations are but just chooses not to play that game".

During the White House event for Gold Star families, President Trump alluded to the speculation, according to reporters in the room.

"Mrs. Trump is very strong and independent", Grisham said.
