Xiaomi All Set To Launch Redmi Y2 In India On 7th June

TODO alt text

Beginning with a comment on Delhi's hot weather, Vice President of Xiaomi India Manu Jain introduced a new selfie-focused smartphone called the Redmi Y2.

As far as the design is concerned, the Redmi Y2 closely resembles the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro - except for a few differences on the back.

Redmi Y2 comes in two RAM+Storage configurations of 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB, which are priced at Rs 9,999 and Rs 12,999, respectively. The device is likely to feature an overall metallic body. Xiaomi Redmi S2 is powered by a 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC paired with Adreno 506 GPU and your choice of RAM- 3GB/4GB.

There is a dual rear camera setup that includes a primary combination of 12MP + 5MP sensors with AI features like AI Portrait mode, Low light enhancement, etc.

Improvements for newer aspect ratios of 18:9 and 19:9 displays - Xiaomi has carried out necessary improvements in the new version to suit new displays. It could run on the Android Oreo-based MIUI 10. Now it makes its way to the Redmi Y2 where the tech detects backlit condition automatically and brings out more details both in an indoor and outdoor environment.

Like past year - where the Redmi Note 4 was a better purchase over the Redmi Y1 - the Y2 is going up against the Redmi Note 5. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, in my opinion, is the phone behind that success.

On the rear, we have a dual camera setup and a rounded fingerprint scanner.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 can be considered the "descendant" of "Redmi 5". On the front is a 16-megapixel selfie snapper with AI Portrait mode, LED selfie flash, and Beautify 4.0. Connectivity options onboard the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, IR blaster, FM Radio, GPS/ A-GPS, micro USB port, and 3.5mm audio jack.

The phone will be available in colors such as Dark Grey, Gold, and Rose Gold.

As expected, the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 launch was accompanied by the debut of the MIUI 10 Global ROM. The Redmi S2 will launch in India on June 7, Xiaomi has confirmed on Twitter. The base model offers 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, while the top model packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

Flipkart is also offering 5 percent discount if you pay using Visa Cards for first three payments and via Axis Bank Buzz Credit Card. The Mi 8 went on sale on June 5 and that version quickly sold out.
