After reports of Trump calling Southerners dumb, SC native Colbert fires back

Trump said his former chief of staff Reince Priebus scurries around'like a rat

Excerpts from the book, entitled "Fear" and written by famed Watergate reporter Bob Woodward, were published by the Washington Post on Tuesday. Add Donald Trump as an interest to stay up to date on the latest Donald Trump news, video, and analysis from ABC News. The author said the president's administration suffered a "nervous breakdown" during its first 19 months.

In "Fear", which is sourced from a number of current and former senior White House officials, Woodward describes Trump disparaging Attorney General Jeff Sessions, according to The Post. "Big deal", Mr Trump told Woodward, according to a transcript of a telephone call released by the Post.

"I can stop this".

Kelly then reportedly confided to Cohn: "I would have taken that resignation letter and shoved it up his ass six different times".

Trump earlier on Wednesday tweeted the book had already been refuted by Defense Secretary James Mattis and Chief of Staff John Kelly-both quoted in the book as trashing Trump or not following orders-and said it was a "shame" books could be made up.

The United States remains part of both trade agreements as it negotiates new terms.

This amounts to an "administrative coup d'état", Woodward says.

He is openly longing to fire Attorney General Jeff Sessions for failing to quash the Russian Federation investigation, even though Sessions has in every other respect done Trump's bidding to the letter.

It didn't go well, as the president grew increasingly frustrated with the intensity of the questioning, at one point angrily calling the investigation "a goddamn hoax". Trump has frequently threatened legal action against others he says have wronged him without following through.

When they repeatedly catch Trump with stumbles, contradictions, and lies, the President flies into a 30-minute rage, calls the probe a hoax, and refuses to testify.

Mr Trump is quoted as saying: "Let's f***ing kill him!"

Woodward is considered one of the most renowned investigative political journalists in recent decades.

According to another anecdote from Woodward's book, in April 2017, Trump told Mattis that he should start making plans to assassinate Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad. And, from what we know of Woodward's modus operandi, this book is even more evidence that the "establishment" has had enough of the festival of fools in the Oval Office. "I want to do this", the Woodward book quotes Trump as saying.

According to Woodward, when Trump finally condemned them, he nearly immediately told aides: "That was the biggest fucking mistake I've made" and the "worst speech I've ever given".

But privately he allegedly commented that Mr Trump had the understanding of "a fifth or sixth-grader".

Trump on Tuesday also lamented the fact that he did not sit for an interview with Woodward before publication.

John F. Kelly, the chief of staff, quickly soured on Trump. "He just scurries around". In the book, Trump says of the former Alabama senator: "This guy is mentally retarded. He's this dumb Southerner".

There's an even worse one coming.

"This was no longer a presidency". Like Jeff Sessions and Stephen Miller, Kelly may be hanging on at the White House because he shares many of his boss's goals. "This is a man being who he is". Following the recusal, Trump is believed to have lobbied Republican lawmakers to oust Sessions, who "talks like he has marbles in his mouth", according to White House aides.

The White House also released a statement attributed to Kelly in which he renewed his denial of ever calling Trump an "idiot".

"Everything so far I've seen out of this book doesn't depict what's going on in the building behind me".

"You are not a good witness", Dowd replied. If I've got a problem with you, you'll hear from me. "I think you've always been fair".

"Well, about six people", Woodward said.

Mr Trump makes several attempts to steer conversation toward his foreign policy achievements and economic record as president. "That I can tell you.".

Trump has slammed the book, suggested Woodward is a "Dem operative" who is trying "to divide".

"Look, I can't get into the internal deliberations", Sanders said of the decision not to do an interview with Woodward.
