Titanfall battle royale rumored to launch soon, minus the Titans

It now seems Titanfall 3 won't happen anytime soon, if at all, with Respawn now dedicating their time between Apex Legends and the still unseen Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. There are no titans in Apex Legends, which is why this isn't launching with Titanfall in the name.

Over the weekend several reliable sources leaked information about a new free-to-play battle royale game set in the Titanfall universe called Apex Legends.

In the press release, EA has also announced the first season of Apex Legends, and it'll start this March, and will feature the "Battle Pass", which will grant access to exclusive cosmetic items earned through gameplay. It's super cool, but it leads up to the full reveal of everything at noon.

With the official announcement still slated for tomorrow, alongside confirmation of what, if any, of the above is true - Respawn head Vince Zampella did confirm the title ahead of the reveal.

"So you probably don't have to call in sick, just fake food poisoning at lunch and go home early". There aren't any of the towering mechs that exist at the heart of the core Titanfall games, however. The game is reportedly free-to-play and will be available on PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4. One way Apex Legends will remain fresh for players is through different seasons.

Okay, before we get into the nitty gritty here, let's look at Titanfall.

The stream will happen on February 4 at 12 p.m. EST. on the Play Apex Twitch account.

While it's been made clear that this isn't a sequel to Titanfall 2, Respawn have insisted that the previously rumoured Titanfall 3 isn't actually in development - with the whole team focusing on Apex Legends at the moment.

The game, set in the "Titanfall" universe, takes on competition like "Fortnite" and "PUBG" with a cast of eight Legend characters with unique abilities and play styles for matches where the last team standing emerges victorious.
