Gmail, Google Drive experience outages worldwide

Google's Gmail and Drive suffer global outages

At 3:13 p.m., Google said that the problem with its staple Gmail and Google Drive services "should be resolved".

"The affected users are able to access Google Drive, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behaviour".

Google has not yet addressed the issue but some users have reported that some services are being restored. The company has updated the status of the services on the G Suite Dashboard. "We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support".

Facing issues in accessing/using some of the Google services properly?

"Woohoo - loving not being able to access any of my files", one man tweeted.

Google Maps also appeared to be experiencing issues, with users who tried to use Street View mode seeing a black screen, instead of images of the location. AussieOutages logged up to 2822 reports with Gmail and 118 reports with Drive.

Affected users were unable to send emails, receiving an error message that said "Message could not be sent".

So far, the United States, Japan, New Zealand, Brazil, Philippines, Indonesia and 54 other countries have reported issues with Gmail.

Google Cloud also confirmed there are issues affecting Cloud Storage impacting customers in all regions, as well as an outage of Google App Engine. "Check your network and try again", is the message that these users said comes while sending email.
