Attorney General to Release Mueller Report on April 18

Rosenstein Says Mueller Report Will Outline Russian CybercrimesMore

In a letter to Congress, Attorney General Bill Barr relayed some of the primary findings of the report, stating the special counsel found no evidence of collusion between members of the Trump campaign and the Russians during the 2016 presidential election.

The report will be released to both Congress and the public, the spokeswoman, Kerri Kupec, said.

Speaking with America's Newsroom host Bill Hemmer about the much-anticipated report, which will be released on Thursday, Napolitano said he believes Attorney General William Barr will redact more than 100 pages of the nearly 400-page document. Two days later, Barr released a four-page letter summarizing what he said were Mueller's primary conclusions. Shortly after, President Donald Trump has expressed his disgust with the special counsel's investigation via Twitter, undermining the Mueller Report's the authority in a manner quite predictable for regular followers of Trump's tweets. Barr said that he reviewed Mueller's evidence and made his own determination that Trump did not commit the crime of obstruction of justice.

In a four-page letter to Congress, Barr said in March that Mueller "did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russian Federation in its efforts to influence the 2016 United States presidential election".

Over the past several weeks, a small group of Justice Department officials has been scouring the document to redact grand jury information and details relating to pending investigations, among other materials.

The Justice Department didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. Barr previously said the report is almost 400 pages long. It will have color-coded redactions. "Answer - Dirty Cops, Dems and Crooked Hillary!"

Opposition Democrats like Nadler have launched new investigations of Trump, a Republican, but the president is objecting. Last week, Barr told a U.S. Senate panel he believed that "spying" did occur on Trump's campaign, and he plans to investigate whether it was properly authorized. "I think that's absolutely wrong and I think that's a threat". The bureau started the investigation as early as July 2016 and handed it over to the special counsel in May 2017.
