If you’re anything like me, and you love oatmeal, you might like some ideas on how to spice up your morning oatmeal. But there are so many places you can find recipes that I can’t even tell which ones I tried anymore. I’ve baked them, turned it into granola, added coffee, apple and turned them in to muffins.
Now I could prentend to be very creative and copy a lot of recipes from other people, but I could just post my best finds here for you guys to try.
1. Mocha Refrigerator Oatmeal
Found on: The Jummy Life
Coffee and oatmeal = my favourite combo. Unlike my Oatmealmochachino, this version is served cold. I must be honest, I haven’t tried this one yet. But this one looks amazing for the summer or when you’re a little late for work and have to eat at the office and you can’t heat it.
2. Reese’s Cookie Batter Oatmeal
Found on: dashingdish.com
Even though peanut butter has a quite the amount of fat, it’s still a very healthy food (as long as you don’t eat the whole jar of course). So this recipes isn’t just tasty, it’s also healthy. I would recommend using an actual nut butter instead of the kind that’s loaded with sugars and other added stuff.
3. Monster Cookie Granola
Found on: Somethingswanky.com
Granola, chocolate, m&m’s. Maybe not the healthiest in this post, but I sometimes just eat oatmeal as a comfort food (or hangover food) and then I don’t care so much if it’s a bit less healthy. Instead of chocolate chips I would use little bits of 80% cocoa chocolate. I always need about 1 piece of that stuff because of the stronger flavour, but at least it tastes like real chocolate.
4. Overnight Baked Oatmeal with Fresh Cranberries
Found on: Barefeet in the Kitchen
I love baked oatmeal!!! I eat it a lot during the weekends. I prepare it the night before and leave it in the refrigeration until the next morning. When I wake up, I put it in the oven and when I’ve taken my shower my breakfast is done. Adding fruit always brings something extra to my breakfast, so this version with cranberries is on my list.
5. Coconut Breakfast with fresh raspberry sauce
Found on: De Groene Meisjes (dutch)
Sorry, this recipe is in dutch. But this one basically combines oat-flakes, dates, roasted coconut with a fresh sauce of pureed raspberry. Again, this one is served cold as well, so it’s perfect for summer.
Can’t wait for fresh raspberry’s to come back again so I don’t have to use frozen ones anymore.
