These ‘chicken nuggets’ sort of look like the tofu sticks I made before but these are even better!! When I tried them they made me think of chicken nuggets. Now I don’t know if they really taste like them, since I think I haven’t had them in 2 years.
I don’t mean chicken nuggets you make yourself, I mean the ones you get at the ‘Big M’. I had them for dinner, but I think they are perfect for a snack during a sports game (really, I’m only saying this because there’s a soccer game on today which was supposed to be important :p I don’t really care for snacks during a sports game. But that’s what they always say on the other blogs when they make this kind of stuff. So I’m doing the ‘peer pressure thing’ here…
So anyhow…. chicken nuggets… made from tofu. Makes total sense right…
What do you need
- 1/5 block of tofu (100 gr.)
- 10 ml of milk
- 10 ml of Sriracha
- 25 gr. of oatmeal (or oatmeal flour
Cut the tofu into cubes after draining out most of the fluids. Mix all the ingredients except the oatmeal together and put the cubes of tofu in the mixture. After that, add in the oatmeal and stir until everything is covered in oatmeal. Leave to rest for a few minutes to let the tofu soak up the flavours. Meanwhile, preheat the oven at 200 degrees celsius.
Transfer the ‘nuggets’ to a baking tray and bake in the oven for about 15 minutes. Don’t forget to take the extra oatmeal as well, that’s the best bit imo 🙂 Toss every 5 minutes to make sure everything get’s nice and crispy.
This is what the ‘nuggets’ look like when done. Nice and crispy on the outside, soft and spicy on the inside 😀 Enjoy with some sauce of choice 😀
