Last update on my 30 things when I’m 30 project, I can’t believe it’s been a year. I started this project to ‘take control of my own life’, after ‘feeling other people dictated how I should live my life’.
Of course, it’s not that this still isn’t happening, but I did so many awesome things this year that I don’t think I would have done in any other year. I might do a ‘wrap-up/highlighs’-post after this.
But first there is the last of the 12 posts I was going to make for this project. I did 21 out of the 30 things I wanted to do. I’m actually very pleased with myself. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to do all 30 of them, because some of them would depend on other people as well, like visiting my friend in Ireland. And I may not have gone to the Efteling, but I went to some other things such as a few museum and festivals/party’s. The only thing I’m a bit bummed out about is the muffins, I only made 8 different kinds that are suitable for the blog. I did a few more, but the weren’t that good or I ended up with crappy pictures. But almost 22 out of 30. If this was a class in school I think I would have past it 😛
Save at least a 1000 euro’s
I just calculated how much I saved this year and not only did I pass this goal, I saved almost 5000 euro’s this year!! I spend a lot as well, paying back my mom for the car, having some major costs to my car. But still, I have a nice amount of money on the bank. They always say money doesn’t make you happy, but it does make life a lot easier!
Pay back my mom Decorate my balcony
The lights and pillows aren’t up permanently, because of Dutch weather 😛 But I sort of like how it turned out for now. I’m also getting the ‘corner‘-piece as well, but apparently its sold out because of popular demand, so I have to wait for that. I didn’t know if it would fit at first, but with the new flour I put in I actually have more space. The only thing I hate is the railing, which is metal and painted blue and white and I’m not allowed to change that because it’s a rental. All I need now is a BBQ and I’m ready to go!
Finish my bedroom
I wanted to paint my walls as well, but decided not to. Not because I don’t want to, but it would just take to much effort compared to the profit. I mean, how much time do I really spend in the bedroom anyway. I did put my furs on the floor because I would feel it’s a waste putting them in the attic most of the year. With some extra storage I think I made a pretty decent place for myself.
Visit a friend in Ireland
This will not happen before the end of this project, but it will happen because he’s getting married!! How awesome is that!
Start and finish a TV-show Attent a full reenactment event
Finish a 30-day project
Go to the ‘Efteling’.
Go Raw-food for a week
While I decided I really wanted to do this last month, I’m crossing this off as something I want to do. I made a menu and I just felt like I wouldn’t get enough nutrients or variation in my diet.
Enter a Viking Run
Do a day of volunteers work Dance in the rain Unplug for 24 hours
I finished this one during the weekend as well. I put my phone in my bag on Friday night and didn’t take it out until Sunday evening because I wanted to check the weather for Monday. Except for that I just left it on flight mode for most of the weekend. Maybe it’s the surroundings, but I didn’t even miss it.
Watch all Tim Burton films
I really want to do a few more before august (Vikingweek), when signing up for the event there was the option of signing up as a fighter, but I’m not going to do that since that would mean I’m obligated to participate in all the fights, I’m not sure I’m going to be good enough by that time, but I’m going to practice practice practice to be the best I can be!
Buy a lotery ticket Do a road trip
I didn’t make a road trip like in the movies, but my little Yaris brought me to the most awesome places in this little country. So I’m considering this DONE!
Get at least 1 certificate at work
Do a photoshoot
Do a workshop
Does a workshop from work count? Why not! I did a course/workshop about effective communication a few weeks ago. Most of the stuff was about what kind of person you are and how it effects your communication with others, since you have to take their way of communication into consideration as well. Not really new stuff for me, because I learned most of the stuff during my teachings study’s. But then again, it’s 2
Read a classic novel
Bake 10 different muffin recipes
Beh, I ‘only’ did 8. I know I did a few more, but they weren’t worth mentioning for the blog. To bad, maybe I should have set a more realistic goal for this one.
Finish one year of ‘One Line a Day’
Get a new tattoo
