I love a good trip to the Asian Supermarket, cheap spices, huge bottle of soy sauce and…. mock meat..

With stuff like this I always wonder who comes up with these names. I mean, judging by the name you could say this is a chicken that eat vegetarian food. I’m so overthinking this…

But Asian food. Sometimes I come up with silly things, sometimes they work out, sometimes they do. This time it worked out 😀 Normally you would make pesto with just basil, parmesan cheese and pine nuts. But I added koriander, left out the pinenutes, added some other spices and put it in the blender. And pesto!

What do you need? (1 serving)thaipestopasta2

  • pasta of choice
  • 10 gr. of fresh koriander
  • 10 gr. of fresh basil
  • 5 gr. of nutritional yeast
  • garlic
  • chilli powder
  • ginger
  • 150 gr. of snow pea’s
  • vegetable stock

Cook the pasta according to the directions on the package, steam the pea’s for about 5 minutes until soft.

Put the koriander, basil, garlic, chilli powder , yeast, ginger in a blender and blend util it’s a nice paste. Add some stock and blend again until it has the consistency you want. Drain pasta and pea’s and mix together.
