For some reason, I never seem to pay a lot of attention to the side dishes. So instead of the vegetables and protein of this meal, I wanted to focus on the side dish for once, rice… YELLOW rice!
What do you need (4 servings)
  • 350 gr. of brown rice
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala
  • water
  1. Wash the rice until the water is clear.
  2. Combine rice and the right amount of water (according to package), mix in the spice
  3. Cook until done, after that: drain and use a fork to ‘fluff’ the rice.

I served this rice with some beans, sweet bell peppers and tempeh in hoisin/soy-sauce with some red onion. Tempeh was covered in cayenne pepper, starch and some more turmeric. Since I didn’t cook the beans first, there was still a nice crunch to it.
