Second try, I took it offline yesterday, so re-post today.
Instant noodles with veggies and hoisin sauce
From the pantry:
- Instant noodles
- Soy sauce
- hoisin sauce
- smoked paprika
I bought these noodles to bring with my during Vikingweek as well. Of course, since it was freaking hot and putting on a fire to boil water wasn’t something that I wanted to spend energy on. So, these noodles have been sitting around in my pantry for a few months now. I disposed the oil and the veggies you get with these packages, I only kept the noodles. I added water to the noodles and fried them with garlic, onion, soy sauce, smoked paprika and when they were done I added a heaped full tablespoon of hoisin sauce. Would have been better with some sesame seeds, but I didn’t have those around.
From the pantry
- Spelt grains
- Kidney beans
I boiled the grains in my rice cooker which actually really worked. Combined this with some thinly sliced carrots, bell pepper and some red kidney beans. The version on the picture has some hoisin sauce with it, but I also made a version with humus. Not sure which version I liked more, can’t choose really 😛
Mock Pork and soybean noodles
So this can was sitting in the pantry for a while now. I was actually able to make two different meals from this dish. One of them also used something else that was in the pantry.
Green soy bean noodles. I bought these a while a go on sale but I haven’t gotten around to using this. Friday nights seems to be a night where I can experiment with food a bit, so this was a little experiment. I cooked the noodles with half of the mock pork, some sugar snaps and a little sauce made out of Chinese BBQ-sauce and soy sauce. It could have done with a some onion, but I still needed to get those from the car at the time ;P
Another meal with this mock pork was made with some gluten free corn pasta I still had in the pantry. I added some sugarsnaps (from the meal above), some pumpkin and some peas. Fried the veggies with some soy sauce and some Basil Pesto.
